  • London Art and Design Week

This week’s design festivities kicked off with the opening of the 15th annual PAD Art and Design Fair held in Mayfair’s Berkeley Sq. Like its sister fair PAD Paris which was founded in 1997 and held annually at the Jardin des Tuileries, never disappoints in highlighting the design world’s top 20th Century furniture artists and fine arts geniuses. This year’s PAD London remained true to its standards with Galleries such as Gallery Fumi , Stefanidou Tsoukala Gallery, Galleries Stephanie Coutas, and Dimore Gallery exhibiting pieces that not only inspire but electrify the market and push the envelope of far one dares to go in furniture and art.

  • Each year there is a select few pieces that break the mold in terms of their sheer magnificence, and this year my top two works are “Bathers” by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, circa 1960’s, and “Hiisi” by Kustaa Saksi.
Once again we ended a week grateful for the talent that brings us such exquisite works of art, and thankful to be located in a city that embraces them.
