  • NJM Loves: Venice

Last month, I took a whirlwind trip to Venice where I spent time exploring the city, taking a boat ride through the canals, and revelling in the different colour combinations of the city. I often say that I find inspiration in nature, but in a place like Venice it is the incredible contrast of the natural lagoons with the architecture that creates a uniquely stunning colour composition.

  • I had visited the showroom of Massimo Micheluzzi, which I absolutely loved. He is one of my favourite artisans in Venice creating contemporary work with Murano glass. Since he started in the late 1990s, Massimo is continuously innovating his designs while always staying true to the timeless tradition of Venetian glass. Now his daughters are creating beautiful glasses in unusual shapes so I picked some up for my table.

Of course, I made time to indulge in delicious food. I believe in eating local dishes and trying their specialities, and in Venice that means lots of seafood and fish. For lunch, I love Osteria Da Fiore. And it’s not a trip to Venice without enjoying a Negroni at Harry’s Bar!
