  • Style Guide: Start with the Art

    When starting a new project, I am usually lucky to be able to design around a client’s existing art collection. I use the art as an anchor for the design. The benefit of starting our work with art is that it makes for more cohesive final product. The strategy can be to either allow the pieces to blend seamlessly or to create exciting contrast for a wow statement.

  • The main living area of our Vibrant project in Ibiza took its inspiration from ‘Rendezvous with a flare’ by Olafur Eliasson. My clients had fallen in love with the piece specifically for that room and that place. Even though some of the mirror has different colours in it, it also reflects its surrounding colours so I incorporated some of these bright tones into the furniture. I especially love the ochre lacquered base of the dining table and the rich, rust tone of the sofa accented in shades of lighter blues.
